RECORDING SESSION with KEIKO HIGUCHI

I'm very disappointed and sad to announce that i have cancelled my gigs in Tokyo (6th Shibuya Bar Isshee with Keiko Higuchi, ASTRO/Hiroshi Hasegawa, Reiko. A; 11th Shinjuku URGA with Sachiko; 12th Roppongi Super Delux with ASTRO/Hiroshi Hasegawa and Keiko Higuchi).

After my consultation with the Italian embassy about the damaged nuclear plant of Fukushima i have considerated that could be more safely posticipate my tour and move my gigs about autumn 2011 or, eventually, the next year.

I'm very grateful to my best friends Keiko Higuchi, Sachiko Fukuoka, Reiko Azuma, Hiroshi Hasegawa for the kindness, support and artistic collaborations in preparing these gigs; i would like to thank Cal Lyall to gave me the possibilities to play and to show my visual artwork on Test Tone festival.

I'm very worried and also in pain for my friends and all these people involved in this earthquake disaster and all these dramatic events, i wish deeply that you all soon can live safely.

JAPAN TOUR - CANCELLED

Keiko Higuchi (vocals, piano, lirycs)

Cris X (electronics, field recordings, samples, slide guitar, cymbals, effects)

The collaboration began in november 2010, during Keiko Higuchi's Italian tour. She and Cristiano realized a live film

scoring of Chris Marker's "La jetée". The recording session that followed resulted in an album which will be released

on CD. In their musical collaboration there is a mix of composition and improvisation; electronic and music concrete

and classic songwriting. The duo also will realize the soundtrack for "Invoke", one of Cristiano's video.

“Keiko Higuchi and Cris X’s improvised collaboration with a film made by Cris X/Cristiano Luciani is a mixed cultural experience and universal emotional trip one can identify. They attempt to speak universal language that is not perceived verbally in one, but to be touched or felt as a being, that is to say, they try to depict all the 5 senses and the emotions of people. It speaks of the strength, powerlessness and somewhat melancholic nostalgia of life. It speaks of phenomenon, which one cannot control. Trains of thoughts are brought out from the film, which function as an individual body cell, being connected, in order to structure the body, and the voice of Keiko Higuchi cries and whispers in one’s ears that lingers, while Cris X’s electronics and cymbals sustain the magical moment of such thoughtful images and gives phenomena without a reason. Such is life itself”.
